Benjamin Edward Woolf (1836-1901) was an English-American violinist, composer, playwright, and journalist who rose to first violin at the Boston Museum. He was music editor at the Boston Saturday Evening Gazette and eventually became its editor-in-chief. In 1894, he became the head of the music desk at the Boston Herald.
