Text on item: George Henry Worthley. Born in Boston, December 17, 1839. Graduate of Boston English High School. Foreign Shipping and Commission Merchant and Banker. For several years a sheep and cattle ranchman in the Argentine Republic. Town Auditor, 1883-1884. Treasurer and Collector of Brookline since July 3, 1884. A citizen of Brookline since 1869. In August, 1886, Mr. Worthley organized the Brookline National Bank, became its First Vice-President, and later succeeded to the Presidency. He is still one of its Directors.
