This on-field ceremony took place prior to the June 2nd Braves-Cubs day game. The large ball/glove diamond logo covering the pitcher's mound was identical to the uniform sleeve patch worn by all eight National League clubs for the entire 1951 season (Society for American Baseball Research, 2016).
