Breviary : Dominican use : in Latin with some German rubrics
Item Information
- Title:
- Breviary : Dominican use : in Latin with some German rubrics
- Description:
-
A Dominican breviary (April through November), created in or near Bamberg soon after the canonization of Vincent Ferrer in 1455. In addition to Vincent, the calendar includes typical Dominican feastdays in red such as Thomas Aquinas (7 March), Peter Martyr (29 April and Translation on 7 May), and Dominic (5 August and Translation on 24 May), as well as the specifically Dominican commemorations on 5 September and 10 October. Bamberg use is suggested by the inclusion of St. Kunigund (3 March) and her Translation (9 September) in red, as well as Emperor Henry (13 July) and St. Sebaldus (19 August), also in red.
