Hopkinton fire department members seated on early Hook and Ladder motorized fire engine, with wooden horse-drawn wheeled vehicle in the rear also holding fire men. The Hook and Ladder truck holds fire fighting apparatus, ladder, hose, lamp and chemical containers positioned on its running board. The name of Hopkinton is imprinted on the engine's hood. The chief during this time period was Tim Danahy. Notes indicate that this was known as a Combination Fire Truck. Hopkinton's firemen fought major town fires in the years 1876, 1882 and 1900.
