Description:
A letter from George Otis Draper to his brother, Clare Hill Draper, written from Paris on July 5, 1884. The letter talks about going to see a circus in Paris and seeing the Statue of Liberty before it was sent to America. There is a small sketch of the Statue of Liberty on the second page of the letter. There is also a sketch of a boy on crutches, most likely Clare Hill Draper who broke his leg at the time, and a boy driving a hoop. George Otis Draper and Clare Hill Draper were the children of General William Franklin Draper and Lydia Warren Joy Draper.
