Richard Davis Webb writes to Maria Weston Chapman with a list of expenses for 1847, including the payments for postage and freight to Boston.
Accompanied by a circular (flier) printed on green paper, "To the Women of Great Britain on the Disuse of Slave Produce," by the Newcastle Ladies' Free Produce Association, 6th Mo[nth] 5th [Day], 1848. On the verso, there is chart that answers the question, "The free-man, or the slave; which shall supply your table?" The chart includes a list of produce, such as sugar, coffee, cocoa, rice, tea, etc., that is classified under "Free Labour," Slave Labour," and "Partly free, partly slave or uncertain."
