Richard Davis Webb is in Cork, [Ireland], with Frederick Douglass and James Needham Buffum, who "appear to be warmly received there." Hannah Webb has finished copying Mary Howitt's article. It shall be sent in the bazaar box as it may be worth something "as the autograph of a delightful woman & famous authoress." She considers the article "better suited to a keepsake wreath or Bijou than to your vigorous bell." The Hutchinson family has gone to Manchester to be seen and heard at the Free Trade bazaar. Richard Davis Webb wishes that the Hutchinsons had more variety of songs and believes that "the provincialism of some of their comic effects prevents them from being appreciated. Hannah Webb remarks: "We get a wonderful variety of people from your shores." She comments regretfully on the case of Nathaniel P. Rogers and analyzes his nature.
