Collation: Parchment, fol. ii (paper) + 62 + i (paper) ; 1-2¹² 3¹²⁻⁶ (lacking three outer bifolia, i.e. three folios after fol. 24 and three after fol. 30) 4-5¹² 6⁸ ; signatures in red ink lower right corner of the first half of the quire, signed +a, +b, etc., with the first leaf of the second half signed +. Some catchwords preserved, lower right corner of final verso of each quire. Modern arabic pencil foliation, upper right recto.
Layout: Two columns, 49 lines. Ruled in light plummet.
Script: Written in a gothic bookhand in black ink with red rubrics.
Decoration: 90 two-line initials (at some chapter divisions) alternating blue with red filigree and red with blue, with blue and red filigree extending entire height of margin and into upper and lower margins. Each book begins with 6-7 line initial in gold and colors. 7-line historiated initial in gold and colors on fol. 1, Christ in majesty.
Binding: Ca. 18th-century brown marbled paper over pasteboard, leather spine gilt-stamped "Augustini/ sup/ Genesi" and "Boston Public Library/ 400.5," paper pastedowns and flyleaves.
