Copied in a single hand on uniform paper stock, the present manuscript is bound with the 1487 Mathias Huss edition of the Legenda aurea (ISTC ij00118000; Q.403.100 no.1 FOLIO).

Date based on colophons to two of the manuscript texts. The Charlemagne legend has a dated colophon on 12v ("Anno domini M.cccc.lxxxx, in die sancte Elizabeth ...") and Duodecim abusionibus claustri has a dated colophon on 48r ("... anno 1491 tem[por]e hyemali ...")

Collation: Paper, with watermark similar to Briquet 11794 or 11796 (trimount with a cross, 94 mm high) ; fol. 66 ; 1⁸(-2) 2¹⁰(-10) 3¹² 4¹⁶ 5¹⁰ 6⁸(-8) 7² 8² i (pastedown) ; modern arabic foliation in pencil in lower outer margins of each leaf added after digitization. Those numbers used here for reference.
Layout: Single column, as many as 45 lines, bounding lines in red ink enclose writing space of 215 x 138 mm, unruled.
Script: Written in a single gothic cursive (cursiva currens). The printed portion of the volume is profusely annotated in the same hand.
Decoration: Rubricated in red; initials on 45r and 47v in green.
Binding: Bound into a volume after the 1487 Mathias Huss edition of the Legenda aurea (ISTC ij00118000). Contemporary South German blind tooled pigskin over wooden boards. Tooling matches that of Einbanddatenbank (EBDB) workshop w003742. On the upper cover, a central panel under a single floral roll, with ogival diapering of leafy stems, the interstices each with a large vegetal fleuron, an eagle stamp in each lower corner and a rhombic fleuron stamp in the middle. In the upper-right of the outermost border, a man-in-the-moon; in the upper-left, the sun; stag stamps in the lower corners, the rest filled with "Maria" banderoles. The middle border surrounds the central panel on three sides with round "Agnus Dei" tools. The lower cover with a similar design. Paper label on upper cover. Spine repaired, with manuscript labels faded. Hole from a bookchain staple on lower cover. Brass catch plates on upper cover; clasp anchors remain, with clasps lost.
