Published state. The signature added along the lower edge, to left. Edition of 76 proofs: A, B, C, D, E, F for artist; I-L (British edition); A1-A20 (American edition); and three additional proofs: one unnumbered) for the Victoria and Albert Museum, and two (not numbered or signed in lower margin) printed for submission to Censor. In ink, on the face of one, "Censor," and, on the other, "Proof for Censor." The former bears inscription, "Passed by Censor. A.N. Lee, Major G.S., G.H.Q., Id., 30/4/17." The latter is in the V. & A.M. Proof C (B.M.).
