A copy print of an image taken between 1857-1861. Image is of one side of Purchase Street showing storefronts, people in front of the stores and horses and carriages. The store on the extreme left has a "Trunk Store" sign on it and a partial image of a carriage in front. The next visible sign is "Millinery" and the third visible sign is "S. Childs, Watches & Jewelry Repaired". The building with the "Millinery" sign shows the second location of the New Bedford Five Cents Savings Bank at 37 Purchase Street, which was when the print made. The third location of the bank at 41 Purchase Street is indicated by the arrow.
