Description:
E.R. (Edward Royall) Tyler writes a letter to Amos A. Phelps in which he lists off the names of Congregational clergymen who are also supporting the abolitionist cause. Tyler states that "of our ministers, not abolitionists, many are in a transition (which is underlined) state. They are coming. Not one fourth are not (also underlined) against us." He lists approximately 49 names of Congregationalists across various towns in Connecticut.
