Letter from Aaron Macy Powell, Ghent, N.Y., to William Lloyd Garrison, March 4. 1858
Description:
Aaron Macy Powell writes William Lloyd Garrison with his regrets that Garrison's poor health precludes him from joining them in Hudson and Poughkeepsie, and asserts that "a golden opportunity for giving impetus to the cause" in upstate New York will be lost. Powell informs Garrison that these meetings have been "deferred indefinitely". Powell states that they will carry on as best able with regards to the Albany Convention. Powell requests that Garrison compose a letter to be read at the convention, and instructs him to forward this to Lydia Mott.
