Description:
Richard Plumer notifies William Lloyd Garrison that he has received the latter's letter, and that he has reserved the Hall for the "Eve of the 22d". Plumer states that he visited Mr. Luther in Amesbury, who has volunteered to compose a song or a hymn for the occasion. Plumer states that the Reverend Mr. Campbell has given his assent to join them for the event. Plumer proclaims their readiness to do "all we can" to ensure that the United States becomes a truly free country following the passage of the 13th Amendment.
