Letter from Harriet Martineau, Ambleside, [England], to William Lloyd Garrison, July 21 / [18]67
Description:
Harriet Martineau inquires of William Lloyd Garrison if Mr. Walker was in London at the time of Garrison's return to the city, and states that Walker had expressed wishes to "seeing Mr. Garrison for a good deal". Martineau conveys her satisfaction that Garrison will consent to meet with Walker, and confides that she is regarded as "more or less answerable for the ways & manners of Northern Americans in London". Martineau thanks Garrison for his delivery of newspapers to her, and states that reports of "the Garrison meetings" are "exceedingly interesting".
