Letter from William Cooper Nell, Boston, [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Feb[ruary] 16th, 1870
Description:
William Cooper Nell writes William Lloyd Garrison requesting that he inform Francis Jackson Garrison that he has "noted for the chapter" intimated, and that he hopes to soon submit this for use. Nell states that Wendell Phillips has withdrawn his consent to deliver the "5th of March Centennial Oration". Nell inquires if he may anticipate Garrison's presence at the memorial, and assures him that he would not be requested to deliver an "elaborate speech", but merely a "few remarks".
