Letter from Thomas Phillips, Kensington, [London, England], to William Lloyd Garrison, Sept[ember] 28, 1967
Description:
Thomas Phillips expresses his contentment that the "Leeds and Bradford friends" have agreed to combine their respective resources in order to host a "West Riding Anti-Slavery Demonstration" to be held in Victoria Hall in Leeds on Monday, October 21. Phillips states that he was informed by John Taylor that Garrison had consented to join the National Temperance League at a private meeting on Monday, October 14. Phillips states that they hope to have articles published in the local newspapers concerning these meetings, and that when published, they will assuredly "take care to provide copies" for Garrison.
