Notes (ownership):
The trial papers resulting from the Sacco-Vanzetti cases were in the custody of the Clerk of the Superior Court, Norfolk County, since the first papers were filed on September 8, 1920. Originally transferred to the Supreme Judicial Court division of Archives and Records Preservation on May 26, 1983, they are currently on deposit at the Massachusetts Archives on Columbia Point, Boston, where they are jointly administered by the Massachusetts Archives and the SJC under provisions of a trust agreement.
