Manuscript of the volume eventually published as "History of Newton, Massachusetts : town and city, from its earliest settlement to the present time, 1630-1880" in 1880. This manuscript is accompanied by handwritten pen and ink author's notes: lists of subscribers for the erection of the Monument to the First Settlers and sketch of the monument, newspaper article on Royal M. Pulsifer of Newton, manager of the Boston Herald, some obituaries, pen and ink list of Newton soldiers in the Revolutionary War, notes on population, manufacturing and agricultural output of Newton, pen and ink plan of the First Parish Meeting House in Newton Centre in 1805. - Postcard addressed to Rev.
