View across the valley towards East Main Street In the middle of the image through the valley flows the Nashua River spanned by one of two trestles for the Massachusetts Central Railroad. On the hill above the valley from left to right are St. Anthony's Church. Visible through the line of trees is the rectory, then the rear of the High School. The first library for the Town was housed here in 1878. Also visible are the Odd Fellows Hall and the District Eight School. The library was housed in this primary school on the second floor from 1878-1903. Note that clearing has begun in the valley to make way for the Wachusett Reservoir. Circa 1895-1905.
