A drawing of the Howe Family homestead where Elias Howe, Jr., the inventor of the sewing machine, and his Uncles, Tyler Howe, inventor of the Spring Bed, and William Howe, inventor of the Truss Bridge, were born. The house no longer stands, but a monument commemorating all three inventors marks the site of the homestead. The monument was dedicated on September 10, 1919 in celebration of the Centennial of the birth of Elias Howe Jr.
