<mods:abstract>A female librarian seen holding the Jacob Edwards Library's black cat, in her arms. The librarian is wearing a hat, a blouse and skirt. The library is located at 236 Main Street, at the corner of Foster Street. The library staff were listed in the Annual Report of 1916 as Ella E. Miersch, Librarian, assisted by Mabel W. Plimpton and Ruth Beecher. The librarian in this view is unidentified. A glimpse of a two family house with porch is provided on the right. A side view of a house with a mansard roof and two porches is provided. The low fence has two different patterns. Through the trees one can see a horse and buggy along Main Street.</mods:abstract>
