<mods:abstract>A detailed view of the manufacturing plant of the Hamilton Woolen Company is shown, that was originally built in 1836. The building is constructed of brick with a five story tower complete with cupola, positioned in the center of the facade. A person is in the window of the fourth floor of the tower. A fence bisects the image with a grass lawn in the foreground. A tall chimney stack is in the background. Located in the Globe Village section of Southbridge, the company incorporated in 1831, with a capital of $200,000, The company started a newsletter, called "The Hamiltonian", the first issue was published on January 1,1920. This plant is now home to Dexter-Russell Inc., the largest and the oldest manufacturer of professional cutlery in the United States.</mods:abstract>
