Plan of the Proctor estate situated on Newtonville Avenue, Oak Street and Maple Place, Ward I, City of Newton, Mass -
Description:
Plan of lots for sale and abutting owners, probably drawn up by Thomas B. Proctor, a non-resident of Newton who owned buildings and land in Newton Corner around 1869. The plan was probably made around 1868-1872. Text on the plan reads: "This is the only estate on the south side of the railroad of any considerable size in the immediate vicinity of the railroad station, public library, churches and schools, that remains to be used for building purposes. It is only four minutes from all the public buildings and stores. Parties desiring to purchase and build at one will be advanced on mortgage sixty percent of the cost of land and house. For full particulars inquire of Charles F. Rand, Post Office Building, Newton, or at his Boston office, no. 227 Washington Street." -
