Shown here is the Browning Memorial School, which once stood on the site of Atlantic Union College's Jones Library. Funds to build the school were given by Hansa A. Browning of Darien Center, New York, in memory of her brother, New York banker John T. Browning. The $20,000 "normal building" was a welcome addition to the school's teacher training program. The building's cornerstone, dated October 12, 1912, is still on the campus grounds.
