Letter from Samuel May, Boston, to John Bishop Estlin, 1847, Monday May 31
Description:
May sends Estlin a letter to confirm prior receipt of a letter and a parcel that he sent to Estlin earlier that month. He reports that the packet ship, "Anglo Saxon" was lost off of Cape Sable. He also says that Dr. Orville Dewey resigned the presidency of the American Unitarian Association and that Reverend William Bourn Oliver Peabody of Springfield passed away.
