Jonathan P. Magill recommends that the congregation forsake the minister who promoted the clerical appeal. He urges William Lloyd Garrison to continue in his present course. / Joseph Healy sympathizes with William L. Garrison in his troubles with the supporters of the clerical appeal. He lists the names of Liberator subscribers and sends the money he has collected from them. / Charles Calistus Burleigh requests that William L. Garrison send the Liberator to the Delaware County Republican, whose editor is beginning to favor the anti-slavery cause. Lewis C. Gunn wants to subscribe to the Liberator. James Fulton Jr. of Chester County commends Garrison's rebuke of his clerical appeal opponents. The Bucks County abolitionists are strongly opposed to the appeal.
