Black and white studio photograph of 5 firemen posing together in uniform. The two men in front are sitting on an ornate stone bench decorated with a relief carving, depicting a scene with children. The oldest man rests his arm on the back of the bench. The three other men stand in a row behind the bench. All of the men are dressed in heavy dark jackets, as well as old-style firefighting helmets with a large metal "shield" affixed to the front, each bearing the number 2, and the initials "MFD." It is unknown exactly which town's fire department they were part of, but the initials could stand for "Milford Fire Department." The men also each have well-groomed, bushy moustaches. The two men in front have lighter-colored helmet shields, those of the three in back are dark-colored. The background of the photo depicts a European-style building covered in decorative tiles, but is actually an artificial, two-dimensional painted studio background chosen for the shot.
