William Lloyd Garrison is glad to be in Paris. He received a card photograph from Guiseppe Mazzini, who may be planning to join Garibaldi. Madam Emilie Ashurst sent Garrison four volumes of Mazzini's writings. William Lloyd Garrison longs to return home to see William Lloyd Garrison Jr.'s children, Agnes and Lloyd. His plans have been influenced by the impending death of Henry Villard's father. William L. Garrison lists his engagements. William Lloyd Garrison writes: "Mr. Fowler, the phrenologist, has examined Frank's cranium, and strongly advises him to study chemistry as a most useful, honorable and lucrative profession. Harry says ditto, and thinks Frank [Francis Jackson Garrison] had better go to Munich, and study for three years under the professional guidance of the world-renowned Professor Liebig."
