William Lloyd Garrison expresses his appreciation at receiving a copy of a lecture of the Ladies' Emancipation Society, which Mrs. Elizabeth Pease Nichol transcribed by hand. Garrison was given "the freedom of the city" of Edinburgh by Lord Provost. He plans to visit Birmingham, Bradford, and Leeds. Garrison says that "Mr. Villard is with us, and it is so far settled that we do not make our Switzerland tour until the month of September, if at all." Garrison doesn't know what to do about George Thompson. In the postscript, Garrison wishes to be remembered to the Wighams.
