Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Phillips Garrison are coming to visit William Lloyd Garrison and his wife. William L. Garrison writes about his wife, Helen Eliza: "Dr. Crosby and Miss Andrews are now exerting their combined magnetic forces upon her paralyzed system, and we hope for favorable results." William L. Garrison includes a quotation from a letter written to him by Henry Clarke Wright from Holton, Maine, in which Francis Jackson Garrison is spoken of with great affection. William L. Garrison expresses great admiration for Henry Clarke Wright's good qualities. James Brown Yerrinton's death is mentioned. William L. Garrison reviews the political situation. He thinks that President Johnson "means to make, if need be, a forcible issue with Congress in December." He read Henry Villard's account of "the brilliant reception of the victorious Prussian army at Berlin, as published in the Chicago Tribune." He thinks Francis Jackson may reach Munich before Mrs. Henry Villard.
