William Lloyd Garrison writes: " Among the numerous approvals I have received of my recent letter in the New York Tribune, in reply to Senator Blaine on the Chinese question, no one has given me more pleasure than yours, just received." Garrison criticizes Senator Blaine's argument to exclude the Chinese from this continent. Garrison thinks that Fanny G. Villard's last photograph makes her look very young. William L. Garrison is "glad to hear of the assured success of the new fuel discovery, and trust the material needed will yet be found in abundance."
