In the postscript, Richard Davis Webb writes: "Of course you heard of the death of Garrison Thompson on Sunday(?)---in consequence of which the visit of his Father to Dublin was postponed and our Anti-Slavery meeting for which we had made considerable preparations deferred Sine die."
