One of the two steam vats is open and the wire basket containing the disinfected clothing is being removed. The clothes were steamed at a temperature of 238 degrees Fahrenheit and at a pressure of 7 to 10 pounds for 30 minutes. The photograph was taken in Saacy, France on August 10, 1918.
