You will be pleased to hear that St. Nicholas has accepted one of Helen's stories, and has paid her eight dollars for it. I will send you a copy as soon as it comes out. You will also be glad to know that Oliver Wendall Holmes has taken a lively interest in Helen. A short time ago he asked our good friend Mr. Endicott to bring her to see him. She went, and won the venerable poet's love and admiration immediately. I saw a letter which he wrote about her, on reading some of her letters, and even you could not have spoken with more enthusiasm on the same subject.
