Letter from Michael Anagnos to Annie Sullivan, October 17, 1887 (p. 1 of 2)
Description:
October 17th My dear Annie: I thank you very much for the account of Helen which you sent me. It is very well written and quite satisfactory, and I shall have it published in the annual report. And now, since "One good turn deserves another", there are still two things which I wish very much to obtain. The first is a photograph of yourself and Helen, representing you in the act of conversation with the fingers. Be sure to "sit" until you get an excellent likeness, and do not fail to send me the bill. The second thing I wish to obtain is the loan of the first letter which Helen wrote her mother, and which I wish to have photographed, and I then promise to return it very carefully to Mrs. Keller. If, however, she will not consent to loan it, will you please have an exact copy of it made for me, with spelling, punctuation, and all points like the original. Very sincerely yours, M. Anagnos Miss Annie Sullivan Tuscumbia, Alabama.
