Corrected date based on research by the Society for American Baseball Research, 2010-2011.
Summary provided by the Society for American Baseball Research, 2010-2011.
Of Hank Greenberg's 40 home runs in 1937, six of them came at Fenway over five games (5/21, 5/22, 6/23, 8/1, and 9/21), but Moe Berg was only behind the plate for two of those games (6/23 and 8/1). Greenberg's home run on 6/23 was a grand slam and the one on 8/1 was a solo shot. Given the lack of other Tiger players at the home plate area, this has to be the 8/1 solo shot (Society for American Baseball Research, 2010-2011).
