Collation: Parchment, fol. i (19th-century parchment) + 79 + i (19th-century parchment) ; 1-9⁸ 10⁸⁻¹¹, final leaf cancelled ; vertical catchwords, lower right corner of the last verso of each quire. Modern arabic pencil foliation, upper outer corner of each recto.
Layout: 1 column, 13 lines. Bounding and writing lines in blind or light plummet.
Script: Written in a humanistic bookhand in brown ink with red or blue rubrics.
Decoration: Two- to three-line gold capitals on red and blue with white filigree highlighting throughout, followed by incipits in gold-leaf epigraphic capitals; four four-line historiated initials in gold and colors with full white vine borders on gold and colors with marginal putti, animals and hunting scenes, attributed to Matteo Felice (fl. 1467-93; see Lattanzi): fol. 1: St. Matthew writing at a lectern in an exterior landscape, an angel hovering above. In the outer margin, a peacock; in the lower, two putti hold a green leafy wreath surrounding a fleur-de-lys on a ground of red and green -- fol. 20: St. Mark writing at a desk in a green landscape, a high craggy hill in the background, a lion immediately behind him. In the outer margin, a putto aims an arrow at a buck in the lower margin -- fol. 36: St. Luke seated on the ground, writing on a scroll across his lap, a winged bull lying in front of him. In the outer margin, one putto holds a club aloft, while in the lower margin, another wrestles a snake -- fol. 52v: St. John seated on a green hillside reading, an eagle at the right. In the outer margin, a gesturing putto; in the lower margin, a putto prepares to beat a rabbit with his raised fist.
Binding: 19th-century green morocco, gilt double-fillet borders, spine with gilt-stamped florets in compartments, parchment pastedowns and conjugate flyleaves, edges speckled; housed in custom green woodblock printed paper slipcase, contemporary with binding, shelf number on paper label on front.
