Notes (historical):
The Perkins foundry (located on Broad Street in Bridgewater, Massachusetts) operated for more than 150 years in the same family, producing quality iron castings of all sorts, nails, nail machinery, and piano backboards. While it was founded by Henry Perkins in 1848, he was a descendant of David Perkins who opened the first foundry further up the Town River in 1695.
