High Street and Trinity Methodist Church. When the church had a spire. Space now occupied by the Bunker Hill Girl's Club. The building was erected about 1867, after the earlier structure on the same site had been burned on February 10th. Its prime mover was Mayor Liverus Hall. The new building was said to have been made more nearly uninflammable than any other public building ever erected in Charlestown until modern times. The congregation was incorporated in 1820, and their first minister, Rev. Wilbur Fish, became President, in 1830, of Wesleyan University, Connecticut. On the Sunday after Easter in 1842, a count of all the congregations in all the churches showed Trinity Methodist to have 931 at its two services.
