Current address 63 Temple Street. This house was built by Deacon Amariah Bigelow around the time of his marriage to Lidia Brigham in 1747. She died in 1748 leaving a daughter. Deacon Bigelow remarried in 1753 to Sarah Evilth of Stow. Their third son Dr. Amariah Bigelow inherited the property in 1780. He married Persis Beaman, daughter of Maj. Ezra Beaman, in 1781. Dr. Bigelow died suddenly in 1787. In 1793 she married John Temple whose first wife, Lois Hartman died in 1792. Persis died in 1793 and John Temple died in 1841. The property was inherited by Edmond F. Brigham who was married to Hannah Temple, John Temple’s niece. The house then passed to his son George T. Brigham who sold it to Andrew J. Scarlett who sold it to the present owners.
