Phillips Congregational Church, Mount Auburn Street across from Palfrey Street, built in 1862 and demolished in 1937. The congregation was formed in 1855 with a membership of twenty-six. This building is smaller than the first edifice but it has a chapel in the back, library rooms, vestries, and a kitchen. Inside the building was frescoed. The windows are of stained glass. The choir gallery is over the front vestibule. By 1890, the membership had grown to 247 members. the school connected to the church had 252 membership including twenty-four teachers and six officers.
