Grist Mill, demolished May 1906 (not 1898). Built in 1634 on the Mill Creek and moved to this location (Watertown Square, across from Spring Street) sometime later. In the interim, the mill was destroyed by fire in 1840 or 1841 and rebuilt, with additions later added. Its capacity was 600 bushels per day and during King Philip?s War, the town militia guarded the building, although no attack was ever recorded. It ended its service of grinding corn into meal in 1898.
