Injured and fleeing from enemies, Siegmund has just entered the house of Hunding. He collapses and sits on the step of the circular hearth. Sieglinde runs to see Siegmund and offers him a drink, which he brings to his lips. They are both seen in profile. (Wagner, Valküre, act I, scene 1)
