Additional information accompanying item: Traces of border in crayon. Second state - with "Imp. Lemercier et Cie, Paris." Edition of 25 proofs. Stone destroyed. Executed in 1890. A proof of this, retouched and enhanced in gouache, was reproduced in "l'Artiste" of Oct. 1892, accompanying the preface of M. Flat to "les Memoires de Delacroix." This impression, signed, is of the reproduction in the magazine "L'Artiste," issue of Oct. 1892.
