Letter from Samuel Joseph May, Brooklyn, to Amos Augustus Phelps, 1835 January 13
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Samuel J. May says it may be better if Phelps defers his visit to his (May’s) region until there is more interest in antislavery in the area. He says he will not be able to see Phelps at the convention in the following day because he will be out of town to deliver a lecture to the County Temperance Society.
