Description:
In responding to Phelps’s inquiry, Epaphras Goodman provides the names of ministers in the Andover area and their membership to antislavery societies, but says he cannot give a definite answer to the question regarding their attitude to the principles of immediate emancipation. He then addresses Phelps’s question regarding his own views and sentiments on abolitionism.
