Published in the National Anti-Slavery Standard, William Lloyd Garrison writes a letter to Charles Hazeltine containing "the substance of what [he] would say if present" at the funeral of Enoch Hazeltine, whose burial services Garrison was unable to preside over due to ill health. Garrison lauds the elder Hazeltine's character and reformist zeal.
