Francis Jackson writes William Lloyd Garrison that the Hovey Committee has declined to pay John Curtis's bill incurred upon purchasing clothing for a fugitive slave "who sailed with Redpath for Hayti". Jackson adds that the Vigilance Committee has concluded to pay this bill, and sends to Garrison the $12 necessary, as well as Wendell Phillips's letter from Garrison explaining the details of the situation.
